Taking inspiration from the natural beauty of the Italian landscape and autumnal colours, Furla has incorporated these elements into its Autumn Winter 2014 Pre-Collection.

The line's colours, shapes and styles channel the theme of "a journey through the essence of a beautiful country, full of art and tradition, yet always in search of innovation and modernity", according to the Italian luxury accessories brand.

Global Travel Retail Director Gerry Munday said: “Furla is going from strength to strength in travel retail and we have a very busy year ahead of us in 2014. In order to not only maintain but grow our brand presence and popularity, each collection must offer something new and different, innovative and yet still with classic quality, form and function. Yet again, the designers have come up with a superb offer, which I am sure will delight our customers all over the world.”

Fusing modern designs, new materials and innovative techniques, the pre-collection plays on the idea that opposites attract.

Main colours in the collection that reflect the overall theme include caramello, new cuoio and choco to resemble the rustic and vibrant shades of the land with warm autumnal leaf tones; acacia, mandorla and soave inspired by wood and marble; and bold and soft reds such as flamma and acacia inspired by the colours of nature. The use of Oxford light blue was inspired by the clear Italian autumn morning sky, while the names of famous Italian wines Cabernet and Soave also provide inspiration.

In addition to this colour palette, the pre-collection also incorporates a new graphic maxi zebra, plus an animalier theme in pitone and mirror spazzolato copper tones.

These colours are combined with new leather textiles including Lucertolina Tejus – calf printed with a lizard texture, which is then buffed and finished with aniline; Vit St Zebra – zebra pattern that is digitally printed on cow leather and Mirror Rame – polished calf leather onto which metal laminated paper is applied.

All of the designs in the pre-collection feature new linings, new Furla charms and updated logo lettering. The line is split into Basic, Premium, Iconic, Fashion and Candy themes.

In the Basic range, styles for autumn/winter include bags with soft Cervo leather with new Furla charms available in the seasonal colours outlined above. These bags are priced in travel retail at around €230.

The Premium line-up includes new satchel and hobo styles available in soft Cervo and Nappa leather, with functional external pockets and contrasting colours. The totes in this collection also feature internal pockets designed to hold 'techy' gadgets. The recommended travel retail price is €320.

The Icon line features styles such as a Small Dome, with best-sellers in new materials including Lucertolina and Zebra with Metallics. Products in this range are priced at around €360.

The Fashion offering has new styles of the Globe Dome ‘It’ bag, available in Lucertolina print and Abrasivato leather, with a new-style zip.

The pre-collection also features the lightweight mini-crossbody, said to combine function and fashion. Priced at €198 in travel retail, it is available in a variety of materials including Area, Saffiano, Metalics and Zebra.

The Furla Candy collection has been refreshed in new shades of caramel and acacia, contrasted with hues of Oxford and Cabernet. Zebra graphics and a Metallic version also feature. Travel retail prices start from €98.

For the AW2014 season, Furla has also revised its small leathergoods range, focusing on key sizes and functionality of wallets, by creating new flap dimensions and rounded corners for a feminine touch. In addition, coincase pockets have been slimmed down and wallet closures improved. The exteriors feature improved leather edge finishes, as well as metal zips and a new Mouaré lining.
